Via ferrata, canyoning and multi-pitch climbing around Millau, with Bérengère and her instructors.

Tarn, Jonte and Dourbie Gorges. 22 years of experience. By the half-day, full day or weekend.

Why choose Bérengère, naturalist instructor in Millau

A local, experienced instructor, adapting every outing to your wishes and your level.

Twenty-two years guiding via ferrata, canyoning and multi-pitch climbing around Millau, in the heart of the Cévennes National Park and the Grands Causses Regional Park. I work on the legendary triptych of the Tarn, Jonte and Dourbie Gorges, on the Jurassic limestone and dolomite cliffs of the Causse Noir, Causse Méjean and Causse du Larzac. In French and English. Small groups, advice by phone before booking, a call the day before to confirm the weather.

Tailored to your level

I adjust the terrain and the teaching to each participant. Via ferrata is accessible from age eight, the Tayrac descent works up to seventy-seven, and multi-pitch climbing will delight enthusiasts and confirmed climbers alike. On the phone, I point you towards the activity that fits you, depending on your fitness, your wishes and the weather.

Small groups, real connection

Two people for multi-pitch climbing. Eight for canyoning or sport climbing. I take the booking myself, I call you the day before to confirm the weather, and I meet you at the rendezvous. You know in advance who is taking you onto the cliff, and the price is announced from the very first call.

Stunning nature as a bonus

Instructor and naturalist guide, it is up to you whether you want to hear me talk about the limestone, the Cathars and the raptors, or simply climb in silence. On the Boffi approach hike, we pick wild garlic on the Causse Noir. At the top of the cliff, griffon vultures pass at shoulder height.

Thirty years climbing, twenty-two years guiding. Pyrenees, Spain, Ardèche, Corsica, Verdon, then the Cévennes. Her home is in Le Rozier, at the confluence of the Tarn and the Jonte.

Frequently asked questions

What you want to know before booking.

A question not listed here? I answer by phone on +33 7 82 28 41 29, during the day outside July and August.

It depends on the activity: the Tayrac canyon is accessible from age 8 (and up to 77, every obstacle can be bypassed). The via ferrata du Boffi is also open from age 8. Multi-pitch climbing is better suited from age 12. For paragliding, children's flights are possible from age 6.

Technical kit (harness, helmet, lanyards, energy absorber, pulleys) is provided by the Mountain Guides Office. You bring: closed sports or walking shoes, clothing suited to the season, a water bottle, a cap in summer, and something to nibble on for the approach hikes.

All of them, from complete beginners to confirmed climbers. I adapt the routes and my teaching to your level and your wishes. The via ferrata de Liaucous, the Tayrac are ideal first steps. The Boffi and the Tapoul suit sporty types.

Three ways: the search module at the top of the page, the booking form on each activity page, or by phone on +33 7 82 28 41 29 / by email at bureaumoniteurscevennes@gmail.com. In high season (15 July to 20 August), book at least 5 days in advance.

I teach in French and English. Ideal for Dutch, Swiss, German or Flemish guests visiting the Cévennes.

Climbing and via ferrata are postponed in case of heavy rain or thunderstorms (safety). Canyoning, on the other hand, can run even in moderate weather, but in case of flash flood the outing is cancelled. In every case, your deposit is held for a later date or refunded, whichever you prefer.
